Star Wars movies in order of how much I like them.

1) Rogue One: perfection. Characters I care about. A tragedy unfolding filled with dramatic tension. Flawless performances. Beautiful cinematography.

2) The Phantom Menace: I like the political plots. The costumes are fantastic. And dude, that lightsaber battle! I have the OSP for this movie and everything in the Duel of the Fates sequence makes me happy. Jake Lloyd did an excellent job. Fight me.

3) The Empire Strikes Back: I like the tragic tone. The confrontation between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker is gold. It also introduces Lando Calrissian who i enjoy. Bespin is such a pretty setting. The invasion of Hoth is a little slow but I like the movie enough not to mind.

4) Return of the Jedi: a very formative movie for me in understanding manipulative people. Any feelings can be turned to Palpatine's purposes. He wants the strong young apprentice, loyalty be dawned. And Vader is stuck because he accepted the idea that he didn't deserve any better. Intoxicating stuff for my ten year old self. These days, I love the sets. 8 like seeing Han and Leia get together though not enough to avoid being frustrated with KOTOR. A triumphant conclusion

5) A New Hope: i like it. The best part is the X W8ng sequence but I enjoy the whole movie. I used to like this one more than RotJ but these days it's a little empty.

6) The Last Jedi: I like what Rian Johnson was trying to do. The sets are gorgeous. Ben Solo makes sense. Rey makes sense. I liked the twist that she's not someone's secret relative, the Force picked her for ineffable reasons. Luke's backstreet is a fascinating departure from Legends. I'm still disappointed that there's no Jaina Solo.

7) Revenge of the Sith: not a bad movie. A little rushed. Might have been better as a silent movie. Delicious tragedy and dramatic tension.

8) Caravan of Courage: I am not sure why the fairies but I do recognize the biblical reference in "Witch of Endor." As much as I enjoy the tragedy of Star Wars, I liked that the kiddos' family is waiting to be rescued. A deeply silly movie but fun

9) Battle for Endor: I don't like that I spent all that time rooting for Mace and then he's here for a handful of minutes. Less light hearted but just as silly

10) The Force Awakens: a decent introduction but I hate the way Abrams handles plots. And no offense to Oscar Isaac, he's fantastic, but why is Poe in so much of this movie? Tge plot just feels really unbalanced

11) Attack of the Clones: would have been great as a silent movie. As it is, I don't like Hayden Christensen's performance

12) Solo: I just love AC Crispin too much to accept this version. Also, it's crowded with more flash than bang

13) Rise of Skywalker: I don't like the way Abrams handled the plotting and Johnson's innovations
