I finally finished watching this series. The first time around, I didn't pay much attention to season 2 because season 1 was too busy manufacturing plot twists by undercutting characterization. The first three episodes stil aren't good but the rest of the series is.

I was a little bored during season 4 but I ended up liking Liam Dunbar more 5han I thought I would would when he's first introduced. The underclassmen in general felt more balanced than Scott's circle. I liked the way seasons 5 and 6 included Scott but weren't centered around the teen romance anymore.

I like what was done with Kira and the way that it let them gracefully write her out. Making her situation that tricky gave the Dread Doctors that much more narrative weight.

Also, I like the theme of community better than the forbidden romance.

Season 2 still isn't quite to my liking but the characters are more coherent and I like that. If I have to choose between characterization and the zing of a plot twist, I'll pick the coherent characterization. That's why in s5 and s6, I like the use of Gerard, Deucalion, and Kate.

I'm not fond of treating Nazis as generic bad guys but this wasn't generic. The arrogance to think he could control something like The Wild Hunt sounds about right. In folklore, Odin leads the Wild Hunt, at least according to OSP. But I can vibe with this version.

Season 3 remains good. I like both the Deucalion/Darach arc and the nogitsune arc.

Overall, it rises into excellence with good performances. As a story about family and community it really works.
